Winona friends, we’re doing something a little different in women’s ministry this year. Together with my friends from Pleasant Valley Church, Simple Faith Ministries, The Edge, and Compass Church, we’re hosting:

if winona

IF:Winona is a local event under the IF:Gathering umbrella. The IF:Gathering seeks to gather, equip, and unleash this generation of women to live out God’s calling on their lives. We are a generation of women that believes God at His Word that He called us to our places and will use us for His glory and for the good of His people. Our goal is to make the name of Jesus great in and through the women of our church, neighborhood, and city.

The world around us feels like it is crumbling and almost nothing seems certain, until we look to Jesus and see that our Hope is very clear and certain. He didn’t just give us salvation—Jesus is our salvation and the example of what it means to live in the fullness of grace and truth. What the world needs is His redemption, the very redemption and hope that lives inside of us. Rather than shrink back, it is time to love like Jesus loved, serve like Jesus served, pray like Jesus prayed, and pursue holiness like Jesus pursued it. Join this global gathering of women across denominations, generations, and cultures as we come together in the name of Jesus.

I attended the IF:Gathering in Austin, Texas (the live event) last year. It’s the reason I went in to ministry. You can read about and watch my journey from cynic to clergy here.  This is why IF is special to me: God threw me down on the floor and made me listen. I think we all need a little more of this in the service of serving God.

Because of the generosity of our local Winona businesses, churches and individuals, we are able to offer this two-day live stream event, lunch, swag, live music and snacks FOR FREE. Upon registration, IF:Gathering asks for a $1 donation (feel free to give more) to help defer the costs of this $500,000 event. We will be joining 1200 other IF:Local locations around the globe on February 5th and 6th to ask, “If God is real, what does that mean for me?”

We’ve also provided opportunities for women to apply for a child care scholarship to help defer the costs of babysitting for Friday night and Saturday. You can apply here until February 1st. Nursing mothers with children 12 months or younger are welcome.
